Our Services
At Arts of Point Richmond, our mission comes to life through programs designed to connect people with art and elevate the voices of local creatives. From dynamic exhibitions to hands-on learning, our initiatives serve as a bridge between artists and the community. Whether you’re a practicing artist, an aspiring creative, or a supporter of the arts, there’s something here for you.
Community Art Exhibitions
We believe that art should be seen, shared, and celebrated by all. That’s why we organize rotating exhibitions throughout the year in a variety of locations—from local galleries and community centers to pop-up public installations and storefronts around Point Richmond.
These exhibitions:
- Provide local artists with vital visibility and opportunities to showcase their work
- Encourage community members to discover and engage with diverse artistic styles
- Highlight underrepresented artists, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, youth, and elder artists
- Bring art into unexpected public places, making it accessible to people in their daily routines
Many of our shows are juried by experienced curators and include opening receptions, artist talks, and interactive components. Visitors can often meet the artists, purchase artwork, and learn more about the creative process behind the pieces.
Art Education & Workshops
We are passionate about arts education and believe that creativity should be nurtured at every stage of life. Our workshops and learning sessions are open to all ages and skill levels, and they are often free or low-cost to ensure accessibility.
Our offerings include:
- Youth Art Classes: Designed for children and teens, these workshops teach fundamentals like color theory, drawing, and painting in fun, supportive environments.
- Adult Studio Workshops: For hobbyists or emerging artists looking to expand their skills in mediums like acrylic, watercolor, printmaking, and collage.
- Community Art Days: Free, drop-in creative events where families can paint, draw, or build art together in a relaxed public setting.
- Mentorship Programs: Pairing experienced artists with younger or less experienced creatives for skill-building, critique, and career guidance.
All programs are led by professional local artists and educators who bring a mix of technical skill, cultural perspective, and a passion for sharing their craft.
Artist Collaborations & Special Projects
In addition to our core offerings, we frequently engage in special projects that bring artists and the community together, such as:
- Community Murals & Public Art Installations
- Seasonal Artist-in-Residence Programs
- Collaborative Exhibits with Local Schools & Senior Centers
- Storytelling Through Art: Where residents share personal stories that are interpreted visually by artists
These initiatives allow for collaborative storytelling, cross-generational learning, and cultural preservation through creative expression.
